Umphang is a sort of isolated place by comparing to other parts of Thailand. It is a small town as large as a big village with no actual bank or no commercialization. It is located in TAK province amidst nature which still remains in pristine condition. The area of Umphang is also abutting to Kampangpaet province where it is the most nearest and easiest access for central Thai people if there is a road. However, the road was built incomplete in order to conserve the vast forest and wild life animals. Visitors can come to Umphang from Mae Sot by bike, car of pick-up truck as prefer. It takes roughly 3 hrs to reach the town from the distance of 160 km. Burma Border is only 78 km. away from it. Karen tribe sparsely inhabits in the area ever since …date unknown. By their love of nature, visitors can still treasure the beauty of it.

Umphang won in the category of the best Asian Conservation effort of the Asia tourism association on Jan 28, 1999.
On March 30, 1998 Travel association and Aseanta Award in 1999. Pata Gold Award in the category of eco-tourism project of Pacific Asia in 1998.

2. Phudoi Resort.
You are welcome to the nature by staying in the rooms or single houses with full range of facilities including seminar rooms, karaoke and coffee corner. You can check e-mail or send e-mail with high speed internet.
